hey, i'm a friend of

's and i'd like ur opinion on something... i suppose jana totally NOT getting her art deleted all the way, i really do, so i have a question... do u think tributes (for TDK or anything else, really) are copyright infringement and shud be deleted? wut about the category of 'desktop screenshots'? those are usually, almost always copyrighted images slapped into one big collage a person calls his or her own art... do u think dA should delete that category just cuz of that reason? just wondering... uhm yeah i think that's all i hafta say, i'm gonna go read the rest of this argument now, even tho it's been blown way out of proportion and everyone but that mimblewimble person seems to kno that... ^^

Yeah, the argument was definitely thrown way out of proportion. It was kind of ridiculous. In my personal opinion, if dA was going to be picky about copyright laws, they need to delete the ScreenShot category because the majority of those are exactly like what Jana has, except placed on your desktop and then captured as a screenshot. Which, I don't think has any artistic quality unless you actually drew out the desktop wallpaper or something. If they are going to be picky about these things, they need to go through and delete any type of tributes or other images like icons of images that many people most likely didn't get permission to use.

Yeah, dA definitely needs to get their priorities straight, as to categories and such, before they go around deleting peoples' art, no matter what that art may be, I think. Just in case, though, I deleted my August Rush screenshots, which people did like (or commented on because they loved the movie, LOL XDDD). If dA deletes any of my NYC trip pics, for any reason, I'm leaving dA. End of story. I really do think disclaimers and turning off the Download and other options should be enough.
